What does “Son of Man” mean?

Posted on April 19, 2007May 10, 2021 by Norm

“I know that Jesus is the “Son of God”, but often He refers to Himself as the “Son of Man”. What does this name mean?”

Anyone have any thoughts to share?

This is a good question. I looked it up in my Bible Dictionary and this is what it says:

THIS TITLE WAS APPLIED BY CHRIST TO HIMSELF. THIS TITLE DOES NOT MEAN THAT HE WAS MERELY HUMAN AND NOT DIVINE. HE IDENTIFIED HIMSELF WITH MAN IN HIS HUMAN NATURE AND IN HIS SUFFERINGS FOR MANKIND (MATTHEW 20:28; JOHN 1:14).

think about it!

A man can no more diminish God’s glory by refusing to worship Him than a lunatic can put out the sun by scribbling the word, ‘darkness’ on the walls of his cell.
