nothing, no one, nada!

SCRIPTURE: Romans 8
OBSERVATION/APPLICATION:
“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand.” [John 10:28-29] According to Jesus, we are totally secure. No matter what. Paul echoes this in Romans 8, nothing can separate us from the love of God. This is our confidence, even though for a time we may go through weakness and suffering.

How secure do you feel in this life? How confident in God’s love and forgiveness. The message of Jesus is a living demonstration of how much He loves us, how far He will go for us. He has given every proof that not even our guilt can keep us from Him – He has taken care of that. As far as He is concerned, there is no condemnation.

The challenge for us is to live according to this great truth. To live and act as if we are loved, forgiven, secure. And then, as a result, to live the kind of life He saved us to live. We have been saved from sin and its consequences, now we have to live accordingly. With the help of the Holy Spirit within, we can start living like Jesus. The key is living in the Spirit, controlled by the Spirit, led by the Spirit. We need to discipline our minds to think about the things the Spirit desires (love, joy, peace, patience, etc).

Life in this world is hard. The whole creation is groaning, and our spiritual enemy is doing what he can to discourage, distract and defeat us. But his words and actions are lies. We need to choose who we will believe – the truth of God or the lies of Satan. Sadly, many people choose to affirm the lies of Satan with their minds and mouths.

The most important battlefield is the mind. There Satan attempts to lodge his lies (like he did with Eve). There we must stand firm. Repeat these great truths, over and over again: no condemnation, children of God, nothing can separate us, nothing! When Satan points to the sufferings in this life to discourage us, respond by saying (by faith), ‘that ain’t nothing compared to what God has in store for me!’

I am safe in my Father’s hands, I am safe in my Saviour’s hands. Together we are safe, loved, forgiven! Amen.

PRAYER:
Lord, forgive me for believing Satan’s lies and doubting Your love. I choose to affirm by faith again – NOTHING CAN SEPARATE ME FROM YOUR LOVE!

Thank You Lord for Your presence by Your Spirit so that I can be Spirit filled. And because of that I am a child of the King. You have adopted me and therefore I am a kingdom kid. As Your child Lord, help me from day to day to live for Jesus by Your Spirit leading me and guiding me because I am strong only in You. Without You Lord I am weak but in Christ Jesus I am strong being more than a conqueror through the love of God. Help me each day to live for You.

I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.
All who dwell in dark and sin,
    My hand will save.

    Chorus
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
    Whom shall I send?

    Chorus
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have borne my people’s pain.
I have wept for love of them.
    They turn away.

    Chorus
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my words to them.
    Whom shall I send?

    Chorus
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will send the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them.
    My hand will save.

    Chorus
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

    Finest bread I will provide,
    ‘Til their hearts be satisfied.
I will give my life to them.
    Whom shall I send?

    Chorus
Here I am, Lord. Is it I, Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go, Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

think about it!

Whether you like it or not, whether you know it or not, secretly all nature seeks God and works toward him.
