SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 15 OBSERVATION/APPLICATION: When your words came, I ate them; they were my joy and my heart’s delight, for I bear your name, LORD God Almighty. [Jeremiah 15:16] Jeremiah describes how he first responded to God’s calling – he accepted God’s message as if it were food, he willingly received it! His frustration is that by…

SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 14 OBSERVATION/APPLICATION: Do any of the worthless idols of the nations bring rain? Do the skies themselves send down showers? No, it is you, LORD our God. Therefore our hope is in you, for you are the one who does all this. [Jeremiah 14:22] The land is going through a crisis of famine and drought,…

SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 11 OBSERVATION/APPLICATION: The LORD called you a thriving olive tree with fruit beautiful in form. But with the roar of a mighty storm he will set it on fire, and its branches will be broken. [Jeremiah 11:16] There are some important parallels between Jeremiah 11 and Mark 11. SCRIPTURE: Jeremiah 10 OBSERVATION/APPLICATION: The shepherds are senseless and do not inquire of the LORD; so they do not prosper and all their flock is scattered. [Jeremiah 10:21] An idol is more than a golden statue, it is any reality or experience that people put their confidence in, other than God Himself. These shepherds (leaders) are called…

think about it!

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence… We need silence to be able to touch souls.
