Done with the churchy talk!

Posted on February 9, 2019February 9, 2019 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Galatians 4-6
“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 6:14)
What do I talk the most about?
Am I focused more on Jesus the His life, death and resurrection?
Or is most of my talk about church, or spiritual practices, or good deeds?
This is especially a struggle for me, in that I work in the church.
There was a time when I spoke mostly about churchy stuff.
I debated church issues and church practices, and had strong opinions.
At one point I crashed spiritually, and realized how empty my faith was.
My issues were different than these Galatians, but I was still sidetracked.
My boasting was not about Jesus, but about being right.
“It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good.” (Galatians 4:18)
Nowadays I find churchy talk tiresome, I want to know and show Jesus.
I want to discover what it means to live by, be led by, the Spirit of Jesus!
I have not figured this out, and I have a long way to go.
But my boast is Jesus, Who loved me and gave Himself for me!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I love to talk with You, and I love to talk about You. Fill me with Your Spirit, so that I may also show You in all I say and do!

    Step by step.
As a child of the King I need to start each day with Him. Living for Jesus. Today God Is First. So in order to produce the fruit of the Spirit I must be SpiritLed. And when I am living in the Spirit I will live as far as it depends upon me doing good to all those around me or as this passage says, let us do good to all people. God’s love in action for the Gospel in one word is love.
Always do good. Never be weary living the Word. Others need to see Christ living in me as I live for Jesus. All praise to the Father for the things He has done.
Lead me and guide me Lord as Your instrument of peace.

Lead me oh Lord, won’t you lead me
I am tired and I need Thy strength and power
To guide me over my darkest hour
For just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me oh Lord, won’t you lead me
Lead me, guide me along the way
For if you lead me I cannot stray
Or just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me oh Lord, won’t you lead me
I am lost if you take your hand from me
I am blind without try light to see

think about it!

It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.
