How we respond to Jesus’s salvation!

Posted on January 3, 2019January 2, 2019 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Acts 4:1-12
“Called to account for an act of kindness shown to a man who was lame.” (Acts 4:9)
As a Jesus follower, I believe that Jesus is God’s way of salvation.
Jesus comes expressing perfect love and goodness – and dies for it.
But death couldn’t hold Him, for He did not sin – and overcomes evil.
God gives us this life to show how we respond to His kindness.
But what of those who never knew Jesus, or who do not ‘believe’?
He is their way of salvation too; they have their chance too.
We respond to Jesus every day, whether we know Him or not (Matthew 25).
Our response to those burdened by the curse is our response to Jesus.
The question isn’t ‘am I good enough’, but ‘do I desire and pursue goodness’?
One day we will all stand before Jesus, the ‘very good’ Saviour.
Our whole lives will flash before our eyes, both good and evil.
That moment will reveal whether our hearts were directed to goodness.
Today we will encounter Jesus in opportunities for goodness and kindness.
Will we be open to Jesus, and the goodness He freely offers?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, true repentance is hating evil, and pursuing goodness. Deliver me from evil, and help me to desire and choose Your kindness everyday.

12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”

    Jesus is the answer.
This reminds me of the questions pastors ask in a children’s message. The immediate response of many is Jesus. As Jesus told the disciples to let the children come to Him, so must I – be like a small child and believe that He is the answer. I need to live for Jesus and be like Jesus – a servant to those around me showing acts of kindness. As God has blessed me I need to be a blessing to others – showing acts of kindness.

A living letter for all to read.

Spirit of God, who dwells within my heart,
wean it from sin, through all its pulses move.
Stoop to my weakness, mighty as you are,
and make me love you as I ought to love.

think about it!

We frequently misunderstand what the Bible says, because we misunderstand what the Bible is.
