In the name of Jesus… live!

Posted on January 1, 2019December 31, 2018 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Acts 3:1-10
“Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you.
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”(Acts 3:6)

Was Peter saying they were penniless, or that they had no money on them?
If they did have money, would they have offered that instead?
My sense is that Peter is dismissing money as the solution.
Silver and gold would not help this man, he needed Jesus.
Jesus heals this man, but He does not solve all his problems.
Now he needs to find a job, and figure out life as a walking man.
He needs to learn how to live “in the name of Jesus”.
His healing is amazing, but it’s only the first step in a new life.
Living in Christ is the greater opportunity and challenge.
Years after the miracle, is he still jumping and praising God?
Today is the first day of 2019, a new year of living lies ahead.
As a Jesus follower, are you living “in the name of Jesus”?
Taking each step with Jesus, following His lead, living for His purpose?
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I may wish for miracles everyday, but the reality is I have You everyday. I pledge myself to living 2019 “in the name of Jesus!”

I sense that just like he used my mental illness for good in the church and family, he will use my Lyme for his purpose and that maybe its time to focus on my health and life nit worrying about my son for he is good.

I sense the Lord telling me that he’ll have my back and just like he used my mental illness for good in the church he has a plan for my Lyme. I believe this was his way of telling me to focus on my life this year. Happy New Years Sennemas

As we enter the new year may we all continue our journey of joy for the joy of the Lord God is our strength. We need Jesus each and every day and as the man went walking and jumping and praising God so I too need to praise my Maker each and every day as I live for Jesus.

Peter and John went to pray.
They met a lame man on the way
He asked for alms and held out his palms,
And this is what Peter did say
Silver and gold have I none,
But such as I have give I thee,
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
He went walking and leaping and praising God,
Walking and leaping and praising God,
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
