A vision of life I can believe in!

Posted on December 11, 2018December 13, 2018 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: John 20:24-31
“That you may believe… that you may have life in his name!” (John 20:31)
John had many stories he could have shared about Jesus.
Matthew, Mark and Luke agree on many stories, even if some details differ.
But John selects different stories, one’s that he thinks will help people believe.
To believe that Jesus is the messiah, God’s promised rescuer for humanity.
God had promised this rescuer from the beginning (Genesis 3:15).
But after so many centuries and disappointments, many had given up hope.
It is understandable how Thomas could be skeptical, after Jesus’ crucifixion.
But even ‘doubting Thomas’ believed when He saw Jesus.
I am drawn to Jesus, like no other figure in history.
He inspires me, He gives me a vision of life that appeals to me!
If He is not the messiah, then there is no more hope for life at all.
If the Jesus Life is not real, then no other life matters.
I not only believe in Jesus, I WANT TO BELIEVE in Him, because His life is good.
Read the Jesus stories; they will give you hope and life like no one else can.
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, I love the vision of life You represent. I want this life for myself, and you are offering it to me.

Where as Thomas when Jesus showed Himself to the disciples? Was he lost in his doubts after walking with His Saviour? He withdrew from the body of disciples with his doubt. Yet, after he returned to the body of believers, those who had seen the Lord, Jesus also return to Thomas. Jesus had indeed risen and Thomas’ words of ‘My Lord and my God’ showed that Jesus was truly God. He believed! And through faith I too nee to proclaim Him as my Lord and my God as I live each day in His presence for life without Him is no life at all.

    Jesus, all for Jesus
All I am and have and ever hope to be
    Jesus, all for Jesus
All I am and have and ever hope to be
All of my ambitions, hopes and plans
I surrender these into your hands
All of my ambitions, hopes and plans
I surrender these into your hands
For it’s only in your will that I am free
For it’s only in your will that I am free
    Jesus, all for Jesus
All I am and have and ever hope to be

think about it!

For a small reward, a man will hurry away on a long journey; while for eternal life, many will hardly take a single step.
