Who moved?

Posted on November 24, 2018November 23, 2018 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Malachi 1-4
“Return to me, and I will return to you.” (Malachi 3:6)
Many people are disappointed in their relationship with God.
God seems distant, unresponsive, uninvolved in the struggles of their lives.
Sometimes – not always – it can be because we are holding back from God.
This is what Malachi is pointing out, that they are only half-hearted towards God.
They go through the motions, but their hearts are not in it.
They cut corners, look for shortcuts, seek to do ‘just enough’ but no more.
“When you bring injured, lame or diseased animals and offer them as sacrifices, should I accept them from your hands?” says the Lord.” (Malachi 1:13)
God wants full and sincere devotion, and He offers that same devotion to us.
God is neither stingy nor stubborn, He wants a two-way love relationship.
A question to ask ourselves when God seems far away is… who moved?
I know for myself that there are many times when I am not giving my all.
In those moments, God pleads, “Return to me, and I will return to you.” (Malachi 3:6)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You are worth knowing and loving and serving… with all my heart. You have so much more in mind for me, if only I was open to it.

    Be faithful.
Live for Jesus in all things. He must be first in all my doings. I must serve Him all the time. Christ in me and I in Him. Christ Jesus in all things. This is my Father’s world. The first thing in the morning and the last thing at night and all the time between I need to talk to Him for it is He Who continues to lead and guide me in the way to go. All for Jesus. Those around me need to see Jesus living with me. I need to be an living epistle read by all. Lead me and guide me this day Lord as I live in Your presence.

Lead me, guide me along the way
For if you lead me I cannot stray
Or just open my eyes that I may see
Lead me oh Lord, won’t you lead me
I am lost if you take your hand from me
I am blind without try light to see

think about it!

We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.
