Baby steps to better living!

THE STORY OF JESUS: Galatians 5:22-26
“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25)
Every move I make, every breathe I take, I move and take through God’s Spirit.
Not only me, EVERY person lives by the Spirit (see Genesis 2:7).
The problem is that we stopped keeping in step with the Spirit in Whom we live.
Its not that we do not have the Spirit, but the Spirit does not have us.
Jesus is the first Human (since Adam) to live in fellowship with the Spirit.
He died for it… but death could not hold Him, because of the Spirit of life in Him.
Jesus has restored us to fellowship with God and His Spirit of life.
We live again by the Spirit, and are able – in fellowship with Him – to keep in step with Him.
“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him.” (2 Peter 1:3)
Everything we need, through our living relationship with Him.
Our role in living this new life is to remain in fellowship with Him, to keep walking with Him.
As we go through our day, opportunities will arise that require us to respond.
Opportunities for love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, etc.
At that moments, the Spirit of Jesus will be prompting us to respond like Him.
And we make a choice – to keep in step with His Spirit, or to step out of line.
Jesus has restored us to LIFE, to living fellowship with God by His Spirit.
Jesus has shown us how to live this LIFE, and He will help us do it.
We’re like babies, unable to walk on our own, but He will help us take our first steps.
“Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.” (Galatians 5:25)
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You have given me everything I need to succeed. You’ve removed my guilt, restored my connection to God, and given me Your Spirit to help me. You’re holding on, help me to take some baby steps with You.

think about it!

We have just enough religion to make us hate, but not enough to make us love one another.
