THE STORY OF JESUS: John 14:1-4
“My Father’s house has many rooms, I am going to prepare a place for you.” (John 14:2)
The ‘Father’s house’ is the restored creation where we will all enjoy eternal life.
Life in God’s world, as it was originally created, and as it will one day be again.
Jesus comes to restore God’s kingdom creation by restoring His kingdom family.
The ‘house’ imagery conveys the warmth of family, where everyone belongs.
There’s room for everyone with God (many rooms), and Jesus is making sure of it.
God wants a relationship with us; He is not just gathering minions to do His bidding.
It is the dream of God’s restored family in God’s restored creation that ought to inspire us.
We live the kingdom way – love, joy, peace, etc, like Jesus – so that we can experience this.
This is what the Spirit of Jesus is doing in us, transforming us to be like Jesus.
This month we are going to look at LIFE IN THE SPIRIT.
How the Spirit CONNECTS us to God through Jesus.
How the Spirit helps us to BECOME like God and Jesus in how we live.
And how the Spirit uses us to DEMONSTRATE the power of God’s love in the world.
The goal of all this is the beauty of a restored family, in a restored world.
It is the dream the Jesus lived for, and died for.
It is the dream that inspired Martin Luther King Jr, and he died for it is.
It is the dream that the Spirit inspires and works in and through us too.
May God pour out His Spirit in special way, that this dream may come alive in us too!

Lord, what a dream, what a hope. Thank You for preparing this place for me. Fill me and use me by Your Spirit to help others experience this dream and hope too!
