God’s timing for you!

Posted on April 9, 2016April 7, 2016 by Norm

THE STORY OF JESUS: Esther 4:6-17
“And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”” (Esther 4:14)
Timing is everything.
Why am I here at this time, with these gifts and resources, with this education?
Why have these things happened, why am I living in this time in history?
Some people imagine that everything is random, with no order or purpose.
But Mordecai senses God’s providence behind things, putting Esther in that place.
Can you see your own life in this way, that there is a reason for you here, now?
Everything in creation is interconnected, a dynamic eco-system where everything matters.
We are designed to contribute good to the system, though we can also pollute it.
When God was planning history, He saw the need for one like you “for such a time as this!”
There are people who can be saved, blessed, helped… because you are here.
The advance of the kingdom, the downfall of evil can be helped… because of you.
But are we conscious of this, or hiding away in our palaces oblivious to human need?
Are we selfishly living for our own little kingdoms, instead of for God and His kingdom.
You are a gift, uniquely designed by God to add value to His coming kingdom.
You have something to offer, God made sure of it, no matter where you are.
Even in dark places, even in tough times, God has equipped you to shine somehow.
Your time in the hospital, or unemployed, or through the scars of abuse…
Who knows but that you are exactly where you are right now, for such a time as this!
God knows, and we can know it too!
What do you sense the Lord saying to you?
PRAYER
Lord, You were asked to shine in the darkness, and You did. You are asking me to do the same. Help me to see that I am here right now because You have a reason for me.

    Observations/Application
    Doing His will.
    In His presence.
    In His power.
    GodStrong.
    How?
Prayer is the essential ingredient. Although there was also a fast, talking to God to know His will for our lives must be a daily ‘routine.’ As I dress for the day’s activities I must also ‘dress’ myself with His armour – the armour of God. This enables me.
If I rely upon my own power, it would amount to nothing.
But doing His will is everything.
    Mordecai did.
    Esther did.
I must do the same and do His will. I must be in tune with God in all I do and say. May God strengthen me and guide me this day by His leading as I live for Him.

Living for Jesus a life that is true,
    Striving to please Him in all that I do;
    Yielding allegiance, glad-hearted and free,
This is the pathway of blessing for me.
    O Jesus, Lord and Savior,
    I give myself to Thee,
    For Thou, in Thy [redemption],*
    Didst give Thyself for me;
    I own no other Master,
My heart shall be Thy throne,
My life I give, henceforth to live,
    O Christ, for Thee alone.

think about it!

The secret of a good sermon is to have a good beginning and a good ending, then having the two as close together as possible.
